HD radio in cars

As I mentioned in a previous post, HD Radio can be used in cars .This may be a good solution for those who have a stock radio in their car.
According to http://www,xm-radio-satelite.com/ Installation of hdradio in your car is very easy.Place the tuning box in an area out of the way such as under a seat or concealed under the dash. Then connect it to your stereo with the built inwired fm modulater,or using RCA audio cables. Finally, mount the control oannel in a place where you can acces it easily and enjoy.
Well technology is fun isn't it?
There are many car companies using this technology nowadays .Some of those areMercedicebenz,BMW,JMC.BMW was the first company to introduce this technology to it's gallery . I was amazed by the fact that after BMW added this technology , the sales of the company increased!
Infact , I happen to have this technology in my car .
So, if you are interested in having it you can

New radio technology keeps troops in touch

In this post I will talk about RoIP which is an abreviation for Radio over Internet Protocol.
According to http://www.www-935.ibm.com/ RoIP is a suite of technologies that allows two-way radio traffic to be transmitted over an internet protocol network. RoIP extends the reach of radio systems by using an organisation’s existing wide-area network (WAN) infrastructure to route radio signals between base stations. By installing radio-enabled gateway routers at base stations and dispatch consoles, voice signals can be transported over an IP network.

The main advantage of this technology is that it provides an easy way to improve the efficiency of two-way radio by leveraging existing investments in IP networks. Another advantage is that it allows two-way radios to communicate with desk and mobile phones. This provides flexibility in communication and less costs. Moreover, organisations can seamlessly distribute workloads between operations centres to cover peak periods and improve responsiveness during disaster situations or system failures.
Lately, the Air Force improved this technology by leading a joint implementation of a new "radio over Internet protocol routed network" communication system, known as the RIPRnet. This technology extended the range of convay radios by tying them with internet based technology.
It was used in the war on iraq and succeeded.
Well, this was just an introduction for RoIP!!
There is many more to know about this technology. For example, How can we measure custom publishing results with RoIP?The answer of this question and many others will be written in further posts. So,keep in touch.

new under ground radio technology

Another subject related to radio technologies is Underground radio. According to http://www.answers.cpm/ underground Radio is the third EP released by Swedish punk rock band Bombshell Rocks . This 1998 EP was their first signed to a record label other than their own.

In fact, there are millions of stations using this technology. One example of these stations is 3wk that features the best underground Indie Rock, Classic 80's/90's Rock, and Classic Rock music. Another example is weather radio station that gives you the weather all over the united states .

This technology is not new but it is being up-to-dated specially in the last few years.

To find out whats new in this technology stay tuned to our blog.

Color Television!

Television revolution is a big thing that is taking place in our time nowadays. But today I am going to talk about the color TELEVISION REVOLUTION.

The days that color television started broadcasting took place in the 1950's and 60's. Until 1953 TV was only black and white but when color casting began in 1954 there were few color programs and the receivers were expensive for most American families and because of this color television was extremely rare so “it took more than a decade for color television to become a household fixture". The astonishing thing to know is that in the 1950’s the only color program was the NBC.

Kris Trexler says: “The rich, beautiful color was simply overwhelming!” he also adds up and says that the improvement of the black and white TV was very clearly seen when it is compared to a standard broadcast. He also says that a normal viewer couldn’t help but to be impressed by the “lifelike” colors that we take for granted today! “The advent of color
television was truly a revolution!”

And before i forget this is:-

The first color television studio in the United States

NBC COLOR CITY STUDIOS - BURBANK, CALIFORNIA

Adding to all that the channel that we all know the BBC started broadcasting television programs in color in March 3rd 1996. They said that Britain was the First County that will offer regular programs in color.

Have you ever heard of HDTV?!

To begin with HDTV stands for High Definition Television. It simply improves the quality of the picture on the screen and the quality of the sound as well.

If you log into http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HDTV you will see that HDTV is a digital television broadcasting system. What they mean in digital television is that they refer to the sending and receiving of moving images and sounds by means of digital signals in contrast to analogue ones.
Adding to that according to
http://www.physics.udel.edu/~watson/student_projects/scen167/ateam/HDTV/what_is_it.html they say that in the future HDTV will allow even the connectivity of computers and televisions. How cool is that imagine your computer is directly connected to your TV!

This site also states the features of HTDV which are:-
* Higher picture sharpness
* Larger picture
* More colors
* Wider picture
* Multi-channel digital cd quality sound

HDTV standard pictures will have 6 times the resolution of current TV. They also say that the motion will be seen smooth and the picture will be clear enough to sit very close to a very large screen.

Here are some examples on how the resolution will be much better than a normal TV.

If you are interested in knowing more about HDTV you can simply log into:-

What is Wibree?

Probably lots of you didn't hear about Wibree.Neither did I before I wrote this post.So I searched the internet to find out that Wibree is a new interoperable radio technology for small devices that can be built into products such as watches, wireless keyboards, gaming and sports ...Wibree’s development started at the Nokia Research Center in 2001. It was announced to a broader audience in October of 2006 and Nokia stated its intention to incorporate the technology and its current forum into an open, preferably existing industry forum to ensure
Wibree’s wide adoption.
Before 2007,when Wibree was mentioned the question asked was "will it replace bluetooth?" If i was asked to answer this question then, my answer will have been yes. The reason is that wibree is a low power option for bluetooth which means it could be used in smaller and less costly devices.According to Bob Iannucci, head of Nokia's research center,It can use the same radio and antenna components as Bluetooth, helping keep costs down further. However,Nokia said that Wibree will be a complement to Bluetooth, rather than a competitor and they kept their word. In 2007,the Bluetooth Special Interest Group and Nokia announced that the Wibree forum, the group specifying Nokia's low power wireless technology, will be merged with the Bluetooth SIG. As a result, the Wibree specification became a part of the Bluetooth specification as an ultra low power Bluetooth technology or UPLbluetooth.
To buy this technology you can visit www.blueshareware.com/.

New Technology!

Is there a new technology that is related to TV? Off course there is; today I’m going to talk about TiVo. What is TiVo? Someone answered this question by: “Here I'll give my definitive pitch, on why it's going to change TV, why everyone will eventually have one (or something like it), and why all of you without TiVos are missing out so severely.”

So the story goes like this “you connect your TiVo up to your TV almost like a VCR, and it's always on. All the TV you watch is through the TiVo. You tell it what shows you want it to always record, and it does. You also tell it what shows/movies you like or dislike (you rate shows/movies anywhere between three thumbs down and three thumbs up), and it learns what shows you like. Then any time your TiVo isn't full of shows and something comes on at 3:00am that it thinks you'll like, it records that too.” How cool is that? (http://www.keegan.org/jeff/tivo/whatistivo.html)

Imagine that you turn on your TV, you press on the TiVo button and this will bring up the main menu, --> chose “Now Playing”. On the screen you will see all the shows/movies that TiVo has recorded for you! You can watch these recorded stuff whenever you want; you have about 120 hours so there’s usually a lot of space thus a lot of movies to be recorded! Think about this for a moment let it sink in, did it? Good, now think about waking up a Sunday morning looking for anything to watch on TV and you find NOTHING that you are interested in! For me, I’ll definite go with TiVo! I’m thinking about telling dad to get us one :)

Statistics shows that TiVo had reached 2 million people in Sep. 2004, but this was changed by January 2005 the number reached 3 million.

There are a lot of options that you can do with TiVo like you can record a show while watching another recorder show! Or you can pause and rewind live TV! There are about 12 options with TiVo to see and to read each one of them go to:-

ARE YOU INTRESTED IN TiVo?

Everyday television is changing; everyday there is a new technology added to a new television. Every single day this is happening. Companies and Industries are taking the existing trends to a new level. As “we” viewers expect more choices and more options and because of this they are working on it each and every day to try to be on the same level our thinking is taking us.

According to http://www.tvischanging.com/ “we are living through a revolution in the way entertainment is delivered to the public.”

More than one media says that TV is going to change more in the next five years than it did in the last 50. But how does this affect us? Well if you log into
http://www.chicagotribune.com/technology/chi-0505010466may01,1,4154979.story
You will find out that they are trying to know how television will look in the future; how DVRs (digital video recorder) and video-on-demand will allow you to access your favorite shows when you want them, how cutting-edge technology will allow you to take TV with you wherever you go, how the Internet may one day become television's secondary (or primary) home, and how advertising will change in this brave, new TV world.

An example of how people can consume other media and to watch TV at their own time is the DVRs; which allows viewers to pause live TV, fast forward through commercials and record dozens of shows for later viewing. The rise of DVR technology, means that TV watchers can go into the nightly news at 1a.m or to the cooking show at the dinner hour, NOT when is it aired live on TV. According to the research firm the Yankee Group; Forrester Research estimates that 41 percent of homes will have DVRs by 2010.

Television is changing dramatically that they are thinking or actually working on getting TV into the cars! – Not by discs that you put into a mobile DVD player but by satellite forms. “A recent report by the consulting firm Frost and Sullivan predicted by 2011, 3 million cars will have satellite TV -- and 36 million cars will have some kind of video capability.” (From the same website stated above.)

These new ways of thinking are actually just the beginning.

P.S: Come back again or u’ll miss a lot!

HD Radio

Before I decided to write about HD Radio I thought that one post can give it its right. But after doing some researches, I realized that it can be written in many posts and even be the main subject of a complete blog. The reason is that it is changing almost daily and there are new HDRadio stations announced just about weakly.
Of course many of you are asking what is HDRadio?Well,I got the answer for that. In general HDradio is a technology that enables AM and FM radio stations to broadcast their programs digitally. To be more precise HD radio technology does for radio what high definition does for TV– it makes it just one heck of a lot better, crystal-clear, bright, clean and interference-free. This technology have many more benefits. For example it gives you plenty of choices and new data services. There should be a whole slew of new HD Radios available soon. Those HDRadios will have more options than the ones found now.You can visit http://www.hdradio.com/ to know more about those options.

Despite of what was mentioned, the fact that stations are converting to HD Radio technology a lot faster than manufacturers may put a dampener in its popularity.

According to http://www.hddigitalradio.com/, there are currently 605 broadcasting HD radio formats in 68 markets throughout the nation. Of the 56 percent of the surveyed stations that currently broadcasting in HD, 39.3 percent responded that they adopted the new technology because it offered a “higher sound quality” and 28.6 percent said it’s because HD is the “wave of
the future.” Of the more than half that think HD Radio will impact the radio broadcast industry; 27.8 percent respondents say the sound quality would especially impact AM radio. All those facts prove what i mentioned in the beginning of my post.

If you decided to not buy an HD Radio technology receiver, you will always be able to listen to your favorite AM and FM stations just as you are now. But if you are interested in buying it you may be able to find one at your neighborhood. If not, there are several sites on the Internet where you can you can buy this technology and compare prices for several different sources. Among these are http://www.nextag.com/ and http://www.buy.com.if/ you want my advice, enter one of those sites and buy it now.At least thats what i am gonna do after I realized how great this technology is and what benefits it is capable of giving you.

The Theme!

Thinking about a theme to write about got me thinking? And it should right.
Well finally I’ve decided to talk about how media affects television; since we all know that television is media!

To begin with what is media? Media simply is the storage tool used to store and to deliver information or data. The main purpose of media is to reach a large audience and being able to affect them directly and indirectly!

Media affects television a loot, it actually in another words controls it. We may not think of it in this way but in reality it does. People are so connected to it, that they simply copy things they’ve seen in the media.

According to
http://www.theory.org.uk/book1.htm : “The hypothesis that television makes people mad, bad, or otherwise dangerous to know has been tested in multifarious ways; whilst other researchers have investigated whether television might actually do viewers some good.”

If television has a good effect on people then it certainly has bad effects as well. When people see the ugly and the brutal things of life and they think of it as normal then this is where media plays its role and gives them the false impression. (According to “The Sun” newspaper)

So this is what I am going to talk about this semester media and its effects, if you are interested come back again!

Cyberpunk Music!!

Cyberpunks have always been fighting what
is cyberpunk music and what's not,
and if there's special cyberpunk music at
all.In fact, there are many opinions about
this issue.For example,some say that a real
cyberpunk listen to every thing. Others say
that cyberpunk music would be a mix between
hardcore techno and heavy/black metal, with
lyrics like punk music. In fact, I haven't reached
to an opinion yet,but when i do i will not think
twice of posting it.

SECOND LIFE!

FINALLY! After 2 whole weeks of telling them to open this software today they did. I didn’t have much time to actually know everythin in this game since I had almost only one day, but I found out that it is very interesting. It’s so much fun; I can be whoever I want to be. I chose to be a man dunno why it’s like something I’ve always wanted to experience I guess. I can build the house of my dreams; it’s like magic. It’s like having everythin you want in a second life. Doing whatever you want to do. Doing things you cannot do here in this life we live in.

So what is second life? Second Life® is a 3-D virtual world entirely created by its Residents. Since opening to the public in 2003, it has grown explosively and today is inhabited by millions of Residents from around the globe.
You can access it by:- http://www.secondlife.com/

Second Life is an internet based virtual world launched in 2003.This world was developed, published, and designed by Lenden Research. Second Life Viewer wich is a downloadable client program enables its users, called residents, to interact with each other through motional avatars, providing an advanced level of a social network service combined with general aspects of a metaverse. Residents can explore, meet other Residents, socialize, participate in individual and group activities, have virtual sex, and create and trade items (virtual popularity) and services from one another. The good thing about Second Life is that there is no fee for registering an account or participating in it. About 13 million accounts were registered by the end of march 2008.
So what are you waiting for?

V.O.D.

For people who dont have any clue about V.O.D. or video on demand,it is a system that allows users to select and watch video and clip content over a network as part of an interactive television system, I always hoped to share this subject with others but didn't have the chance to do that. Now that I got this blog, I will talk briefly about it. So if you want to know more, stay up-to-dated to our blog.

Steampunk!

What is “Steampunk”? This is exactly the same question I asked myself when dealing with cyberpunk. Well with a little research no one can get lost right?

So I figures out that steampunk is a subgenre of fantasy and speculative fiction which came into frame in the 1980s and early 1990s.

It was called like this because the work was set in an era or world where steam power is still widely used, and often set in Victorian era. Elements of either science fiction or fantasy, such as fictional technological inventions like those found in the works of H. G. Wells and Jules Verne. Another example of steampunk contain alternate history-style presentations of "the path not taken” of such technology analog computers. These frequently are presented in a light, or a presumption of functionality.

The main difference between steampunk and cyberpunk despite the level of technological development and the different in time period is the setting of steampunk is usually less obvious than cyberpunk and lacks elements entirely.

Steampunk fiction focuses more intently on real, theoretical or cinematic Victorian-era technology. While much of steampunk is set in Victorian-era settings the genre has expanded into medieval settings and often delves into the realms of horror and fantasy. Some steampunk includes significant fantasy elements. There are frequently Lovecraftian, occult and Gothic horror influences as well.

Steampunk was influenced by, and often adopts the style of the scientific romances of the 19th century, by Jules Verne, H.G. Wells, Mark Twain, and Mary Shelley.

The "Edisonade" stories of the late 1800s and early 1900s, written by Edward S. Ellis, Luis Senarens and others, can also be seen as an influence on Steampunk.

William Gibson and Bruce Sterling's 1990 novel The Difference Engine is often credited as bringing widespread awareness of the genre "steampunk" among science fiction fans.

So it is quite simple when you understand the basics of it. It’s simply using the advanced technology in the altered past.

Internet changes Publishing!

Do you think that internet changes actually publishing? Do you believe that it can alter the life of a human being? Have you ever thought about this for a while…

Today I’m going to do my part of thinking, maybe in this way I can motivate you to do yours!

Internet nowadays its soo big that it cannot be written into a single book or even an encyclopedia. This is due to the rapid growth of internet and the information that is updated into it every second by a person in this world. Now you can buy a book online, you can search about the latest news in one click, and you can know whatever you want by just connecting to the World Wide Web.

Adding to all that now authors can sell their books online which means that they don’t have to go into the normal process of publishing. They don’t have to have an agent to represent them in the negotiation of how much they are going to get for their book thus in this case it saves them both time and money. Also they don’t have to worry about where their book is going to be published - on the internet it’s going to be worldwide; anyone anywhere can access it easily.

What makes it even easier is the process – since all you have to do is just write the name of the book and the name of the author to be more specific and all the information that a person wants about this book will appear right away in a couple of minutes while sitting down sipping coffee and wearing your pjs. This is so much relaxing and easier than going to the library or the book store and start searching for the book then start reading the main points of it while standing sill and all of the frustration that follows.

All of these points when considering them seem quit real since they are real. But lets think here for a moment about all the agents, about all the people who work to make a specific book popular, and about all the companies that work really hard to make all of this possible. What will happen to them? What are they going to do? What are they going to work when their company closes or when the agents are no longer needed? Their lives will change it’s a very simple math equation. And our lives will change as well.

I believe that in the near future books will no longer exist! I believe that internet will and is going to be developed more and more every single day. I believe that publishing plays a major role in our lifes today. And I believe that the world we are living in today will change completely that our kids may not even know what a book is.

Dana!
