Cyberpunk Music!!

Cyberpunks have always been fighting what

is cyberpunk music and what's not,

and if there's special cyberpunk music at

all.In fact,there are many opinions about

this issue.For example,some say that a real

cyberpunk listen to every thing. Others say

that cyberpunk music would be a mix between

hardcore techno and heavy/black metal, with

lyrics like punk music. In fact, I haven't reached

to an opinion yet,but when i do i will not think

twice of posting it.

SECOND LIFE!

FINALLY! After 2 whole weeks of telling them to open this software today they did. I didn’t have much time to actually know everythin in this game since I had almost only one day, but I found out that it is very interesting. It’s so much fun; I can be whoever I want to be. I chose to be a man dunno why it’s like something I’ve always wanted to experience I guess. I can build the house of my dreams; it’s like magic. It’s like having everythin you want in a second life. Doing whatever you want to do. Doing things you cannot do here in this life we live in.

So what is second life? Second Life® is a 3-D virtual world entirely created by its Residents. Since opening to the public in 2003, it has grown explosively and today is inhabited by millions of Residents from around the globe.

Second Life is an internet based virtual world launched in 2003.This world was developed,published,and designed by Lenden Research. Second Life Viewer wich is a downloadable client program enables its users,called residents, to interact with each other through motional avatars, providing an advanced level of a social network service combined with general aspects of a metaverse. Residents can explore, meet other Residents, socialize, participate in individual and group activities, have virtual sex, and create and trade items (virtual popularity) and services from one another.The good thing about Second Life is that there is no fee for registering an account or participating in it. About 13 million accounts were registered by the end of march 2008.

Steampunk!

What is “Steampunk”? This is exactly the same question I asked myself when dealing with cyberpunk. Well with a little research no one can get lost right?

So I figures out that steampunk is a subgenre of fantasy and speculative fiction which came into frame in the 1980s and early 1990s.

It was called like this because the work was set in an era or world where steam power is still widely used, and often set in Victorian era. Elements of either science fiction or fantasy, such as fictional technological inventions like those found in the works of H. G. Wells and Jules Verne. Another example of steampunk contain alternate history-style presentations of "the path not taken” of such technology analog computers. These frequently are presented in a light, or a presumption of functionality.

The main difference between steampunk and cyberpunk despite the level of technological development and the different in time period is the setting of steampunk is usually less obvious than cyberpunk and lacks elements entirely.

Steampunk fiction focuses more intently on real, theoretical or cinematic Victorian-era technology. While much of steampunk is set in Victorian-era settings the genre has expanded into medieval settings and often delves into the realms of horror and fantasy. Some steampunk includes significant fantasy elements. There are frequently Lovecraftian, occult and Gothic horror influences as well.

Steampunk was influenced by, and often adopts the style of the scientific romances of the 19th century, by Jules Verne, H.G. Wells, Mark Twain, and Mary Shelley.

The "Edisonade" stories of the late 1800s and early 1900s, written by Edward S. Ellis, Luis Senarens and others, can also be seen as an influence on Steampunk.

William Gibson and Bruce Sterling's 1990 novel The Difference Engine is often credited as bringing widespread awareness of the genre "steampunk" among science fiction fans.

So it is quite simple when you understand the basics of it. It’s simply using the advanced technology in the altered past.

Internet changes Publishing!

Do you think that internet changes actually publishing? Do you believe that it can alter the life of a human being? Have you ever thought about this for a while…

Today I’m going to do my part of thinking, maybe in this way I can motivate you to do yours!

Internet nowadays its soo big that it cannot be written into a single book or even an encyclopedia. This is due to the rapid growth of internet and the information that is updated into it every second by a person in this world. Now you can buy a book online, you can search about the latest news in one click, and you can know whatever you want by just connecting to the World Wide Web.

Adding to all that now authors can sell their books online which means that they don’t have to go into the normal process of publishing. They don’t have to have an agent to represent them in the negotiation of how much they are going to get for their book thus in this case it saves them both time and money. Also they don’t have to worry about where their book is going to be published - on the internet it’s going to be worldwide; anyone anywhere can access it easily.

What makes it even easier is the process – since all you have to do is just write the name of the book and the name of the author to be more specific and all the information that a person wants about this book will appear right away in a couple of minutes while sitting down sipping coffee and wearing your pjs. This is so much relaxing and easier than going to the library or the book store and start searching for the book then start reading the main points of it while standing sill and all of the frustration that follows.

All of these points when considering them seem quit real since they are real. But lets think here for a moment about all the agents, about all the people who work to make a specific book popular, and about all the companies that work really hard to make all of this possible. What will happen to them? What are they going to do? What are they going to work when their company closes or when the agents are no longer needed? Their lives will change it’s a very simple math equation. And our lives will change as well.

I believe that in the near future books will no longer exist! I believe that internet will and is going to be developed more and more every single day. I believe that publishing plays a major role in our lifes today. And I believe that the world we are living in today will change completely that our kids may not even know what a book is.
